Wanhao I3 Plus Pid Auto Tuning

Posted on by

Feb 12, 2018  All you do is go to the software terminal and enter in M303 S220 C5 and the software will start the printer up tuning. Then after 5 min or so it spits out some values that you enter in your printer then save to eprom. Hi All, Decided to tune my I3 plus as best I can and so wondering if Im on the right track. Things I’ve done just done: 1.PID auto tune 2. Esteps calibration (this was off by 11mm) 3. LCD firmware upgrade. Just about to install z brace mod. Lowered jerk to 8. That’s all I can think of really. Does anyone have any recommended values for acceleration and jerk and what I should change. You can try running the PID auto-tuning G-Code command M303. The PID loop is the control loop used to control the temperature of the printer. In Simplify3D go the the communication screen. You will see a box at the bottom that looks like a messaging box with a send button. Use this interface to send the commands to the printer. Unfortunately, the Prusa i3 clones typically come with PID temperature control disabled. Using any program that can talk to your printer directly including Octoprint and Repetier host, you can setup PID and use the built-in auto-tune process to get much better temperature control.
